Regarding Caira, the new Nano Banana camera that we just covered, additional information has surfaced.
Although we already knew that the Caira is a mirrorless camera from Micro Four Thirds that connects to iPhones through a MagSafe connection and offers you improved photo editing features with Google's Nanao Banana, it has now been made public that you will be able to use voice commands such as "take a photo" and "make it black and white" to access the camera.
Additionally, Caira comes with six presets called Smart Styles, which are a collection of carefully chosen pre-made color schemes that were learned using "deep neural networks," as defined by Camera Intelligence. Voice Control will be connected to the Smart Styles, allowing you to choose color settings simply by speaking.
Take a picture, record it, and share it.
You may operate Caira with an iOS app made to be user-friendly for novice camera users once the Caira camera body has been connected to your iPhone, which is as easy as touching the two devices together due to MagSafe.
Caira eliminates the need for memory cards by instantly storing any shot you take in the Photos app on your iPhone. This allows you to share your work right away from your device.
In terms of specifications, the camera has a 5,000 mAh battery, an interchangeable MFT lens mount, and a sophisticated 4/3" Sony dual-native ISO Micro Four Thirds picture sensor. To utilize the Caira body, you will need your own lens.
One of Caira's most notable features is its generative editing capabilities, which are made possible by Google's Nano Banana, an AI-powered picture generation model that enables sophisticated real-time image modification with straightforward voice commands in natural language.
Not only a brand-new camera
Vishal Kumar, CEO and co-founder of Camera Intelligence, stated, "With Caira, we are not only presenting a new camera on Kickstarter; we are introducing an intelligent creative partner."
"Hundreds of independent marketers, travelers, and creators who switched from smartphones to their first mirrorless camera have been interviewed by us. Complex camera controls and the time-consuming post-processing editing operations associated with producing high-quality material overwhelm and irritate them. These individuals require flexibility, connectivity, and fast, enjoyable editing tools that keep up with their creative pace in addition to excellent image quality.
The body-only Caira will retail for $995, but Camera Intelligence is giving the first 100 supporters a super early bird price of $695 (30% off) on Kickstarter, and the other backers will receive $795 (20% off).
Caira Pro, a $7/month generative editing software subscription, will be given away for free for six months to all Kickstarter donors. According to Camera Intelligence, this will be extended to nine months if it meets its stretch goal.
Shipping for Kickstarter backers will be available for delivery between mid-January and the end of February 2026, depending on the location of destination, according to Camera Intelligence.
